  1. thanks Curtis. I just got itunes figured out. Give it a couple of days, the show should be there.

  2. Hey John,
I’m a friend of Jims. I met you once when he was screening his Kiss film somewhere on AVE A. Just wanted to drop you a line and let you know how much I enjoy your show. I’ve been playing music all my life and your show makes me feel like an idiot. So much fun to listen to these great old 78’s. Keep up the good work. I’ve been spreading the word!

  3. another great show john (and robert!)…love the relaxed chatty atmosphere….fantastic story about weintraub’s syncopators…australia locked up a lot of jews for being “german” during ww2…there’s a great telemovie called “the dunera boys” (named after the ship they arrived on)…as an aside …there was a hot band called “sonny clay’s coloured idea” that included dancers and large band that toured down under in 1927 and was hugely popular in melbourne and sydney. so popular were they that the government freaked out and charged them with living off prostitution proceeds because they had a number of young women that moved into their digs.they didn’t win the court case but they deported them en masse…and there were no more black performers allowed into the country for another 27years…”they will corrupt the morals of our youth”…anyway thanks again for a great show…

  4. Hey John, We meet at Levine’s a year or so ago. Cool show! That VOX George Boulangers disc, like an Edison, needs to be played back at 80 rpm, see it on the label? A nice one no matter.

    Rock on!

    M
